thoughts during slow songs

For Him,

You make me feel like a silly young girl with a crush. I know to you I am young, but I know that that is a great thing. Youth is what makes me laugh at anything and love with everything. I hope I make you feel young as well--or at least that I used to. I hope with all my being you keep those memories. I will.

For my crush

Because I am not sure what to write, I will put something up that I wrote a few weeks ago when I was drunk and exhausted...I guess this writing was a sort of goodbye.

I wish things were different
I wish I was pure
I wish you were different
I wish I was sure
I wish you were here
I wish I was there
I wish I could have seen what it would have been like

Look at me with those eyes

And tell me that none of this matters

That in minutes, hours, days, in months...
None of this will be real
Memories are gold
Memories are of what is now old
Memories are the treasures of my heart

You are right there, a gleaming gold pendant

Here in my heart, which beats always fast

I wish I was new

I wish I could go back

I wish to move forward with everything that I have remembering everything that I tried to grasp.
Send me a message
--all I want is a sign
To let me know that something was there
despite all failed try's.
I will tell you a secret
if you tell me something true
There's something about you
that I can't shake loose
I wish I was there
but not all the time
I guess these minutes, hours, and days

Are proving me right

Soul

One of my favorite poems:

April Rain Song
Langston Hughes

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

His words have stuck with me for a long time. I found this poem when I was 16 and have always remembered the words. When this happens you know that something has really made an impact on your soul.
